Ranking Joe Johnson Among All-Time NBA Hogs

Sonny Weems Rips Off Rim at Phoenix Suns Practice
It's pretty grainy footage, unfortunately, but this was originally tweeted from the Suns official account, and you can see the rim hit the floor and the reaction of the other players. Pretty cool as this type of thing doesn't happen as often as it used to.
Sonny Weems Signs $5.8 Million Deal With Phoenix Suns
Sources: Sonny Weems and Phoenix Suns agree to 2-year deal worth $5.8 million
— Chris Broussard (@Chris_Broussard) July 8, 2015
The former Razorback high-flyer is getting another shot in the NBA following four seasons in Europe. He was a 2nd round draft pick in 2008 and played three seasons, most notably the last two in Toronto. Congratulations to Sonny on working hard and getting another chance in the league. Hopefully it goes as well for him as Patrick Beverley.
Patrick Beverley Signs $25 Million Deal With Houston Rockets
The former Razorback is getting a pretty big raise. Beverley signed a 4-year deal to stay in Houston worth $25 million, but only the first three years and $18 million are guaranteed. Still, for a guy making "only" $915,243 last year, this is obviously a substantial increase. Remember, Beverley was a 2nd round draft pick by Miami, but couldn't make the roster and ended up overseas before developing his game to the point that the Rockets gave him a shot. He's a great success story.
Michael Qualls Reportedly Signs Free Agent Deal With Oklahoma City Thunder
Correction: Mike Qualls is joining OKC on a free agent deal. He'll rehab with them, but won't be ready for summer league or camp due to ACL.
— Alex Kennedy (@AlexKennedyNBA) June 30, 2015
We figured Qualls would likely sign a free agent deal somewhere, and it appears Oklahoma City is that team. This doesn't necessarily guarantee he'll join the Thunder when he's healthy, but hopefully, they'll give Qualls a chance to fully rehab and see if he might be able to join the team whenever that comes. Either way, we're happy for Qualls and cheering for him.

Michael Qualls Tears ACL During Draft Workout
Terrible news: Arkansas wing Michael Qualls tore his ACL in a workout in Phoenix. Injury diagnosed by the Lakers next day. Out 6-12 months.
— Jonathan Givony (@DraftExpress) June 15, 2015
Oh man this is horrible. Assuming this is true, and I have no reason to doubt that it is, what a huge disappointment for Qualls. It will be interesting to see if teams will still be willing to take a chance on Qualls in the 2nd round, considering how much of his game is based on his explosiveness, which will certainly be in question until he heals. Also, to reiterate, why can't players come back to school if they don't get drafted? Baseball players can actually get drafted out of high school and again after their junior year and still come back to play their senior season. I'll never understand that.

In which Bill Simmons and other Grantland writers discuss how they've fallen in love with Beverley and attempt to bestow a nickname on him. Simmons suggested Mad Dog, but that's been done. I commented Mad Hog. It's a really fun read. Recommended.
