Arkansas Razorbacks Internet Chatter: May 6, 2014 - Hogs in NFL Draft, Trey Flowers, Brandon Allen, Joe Johnson

News, notes and other interesting reads from around the interwebs. Trey Flowers and I are both ready to show out as seniors after stellar junior campaigns.

Hogs in the Draft – It's very well documented that the SEC produces more draft picks and NFL talent than any other league in the country. Arkansas has put its fair share of players into the league, but how do the Hogs stack up against the rest of the teams in the league in that category? The NFL Draft (May 8) is quickly approaching and the Razorbacks have a shot to match their totals of the last two seasons as far as players taken. Get in here and check it out.

Trey FlowersThe rising senior didn't get to participate in team scrimmages this spring, but he understood why. He was, however, able to go through a large majority of team drills and practices to, as Flowers likes to say, "perfect my craft." And after talking with Flowers for a bit this spring, he is absolutely positive coming back to school for this fourth and final year was the right decision. Hog fans are excited to have him back for 2014, and you know Robb Smith is, too.

Program Saving QB? – All Razorback fans realize (or all the sane ones) that Arkansas will not enjoy success this season unless Brandon Allen and the passing game improve. And a lot has been made of the passing game and its improvement since last spring, but can BA be a program-saving quarterback? Allen needs to realize that it's up to him now and that this program, as of now, rests squarely on his throwing shoulder.

Joe Jesus – You've got to be doing something right to be be given the nickname Joe Jesus from The Big Ticket himself. And the Nets needed every last bit of JJ's shotmaking ability in game 7 of their first round series with the Raptors. Scoring 11 straight points for Brooklyn in the fourth quarter alone, Joe Jesus was takin' boys to church when isolated on the wings. And for much of his 45 minutes played on Sunday, he was the best player on the court, and that's nice to see. I'm still lost as to how the Raptors lost the series with these guys on their side.
