Arkansas needs linebacker depth in the worst way and they are getting some with Giovanni LaFrance. The best named recruit the Hogs have initially committed to his hometown team Tulane, but left after their coaching change took place. LaFrance is a three star recruit and has a handful of offers from quite a few schools, the biggest being from Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and Louisville.
At 239 lbs, LaFrance already has good size to be an SEC linebacker and will play the outside linebacker position. He is one of four players from the state of Louisiana to commit to Arkansas. There is a lot of talent down there, so the more Arkansas can pick up from that area the better. Bret Bielema has said he wanted four linebackers in this class and he hit that number. In addition to LaFrance, Arkansas has Dee Walker, De'Jon Harris, and Alexy Jean-Baptiste. So mission accomplished in that regard.
