Arkansas Basketball Recruiting: Jimmy Whitt Commits To The Razorbacks

Combo guard 6'3" 170 lbs. Columbia, Missouri

The wait is finally over. Arkansas has their first commit of the 2015 class, and it's a big one for Mike Anderson.

Jimmy Whitt announced late Tuesday afternoon that he was committing to the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Whitt is a consensus 4* combo guard from Columbia, Missouri who had recently released his top five of Arkansas, Mizzou, Illinois, SMU, and Marquette. He also held offers from schools such as Cal, Creighton, Iowa, Kansas State and many others.

247sports grades Whitt at a 97 and the 50th best player in the country. He is also the #1 ranked player in Missouri. He averaged 22.4 points per game last season. Both Scout and Rivals have him at #52 nationally and ESPN has him at #63.

Arkansas will most likely have at least two scholarships available in this class with Ky Madden and Alandise Harris expected to exhaust their eligibility after the season. The Hogs will have more available if anybody turns professional or transfers.

This is the first commit for Arkansas' class of 2015. Per 247 sports, the class is now ranked #30 in the nation and the 7th in the SEC.
