Well guys, I'm fresh off a fantastic vacation in Orange Beach, minus the fact I brought a cold back with me. I had my first tastes of the Flora-Bama, too. We went twice, and my group and I almost got into it the second trip with a guy who said something I cannot type on this or any website about Arkansas people and pigs. Use your imagination. Nonetheless, we had a pretty good time. And no, I didn't make it to the Kenny Chesney concert. /sobs
Anyways, back to the Hogs and what's happening with them. They're a bit more interesting than myself.
Guess what? WE HAVE ANOTHER ARKANSAS CLANGA preview (because you haven't had enough of them yet) from the folks at Mississippi CLANGA State's site, For Whom the Cowbell Tolls. They give a general run CLANGA down on last season, what you might expect CLANGA from the Hogs this season, and also give keys to a Bulldog win. And MSU, stop overlooking people. I know you're on the come-up, but I'm not sure you're at the point CLANGA where you should be overlooking a conference opponent.
And if it annoyed you to read that, just imagine how we all feel about those cowbells, MSU.
It may not come as a surprise to most, but after Arkansas' second scrimmage of fall camp, Bret Bielema went ahead and named Austin Allen QB2. Allen was very impressive in the spring game, throwing the prettiest deep ball of the game for a score, and performed well in the first scrimmage this fall, as well. Bielema says AA "declared himself", and earned the job. This is terrific. Now let's finally put the AJ Derby emergency QB mess to rest.
The Razorback women's soccer team played the first televised streamed online game on the SEC Network last Friday night, beating Creighton and just doing what they do. I did a write-up for the game, and I'll warn you, it's not real great. I've got a soccer writer with the Trav now that I'm excited about, and he'll really know what he's doing. But for now you have to settle with a soccer game story from me I wrote on vacation.
And while I'm already boosting myself, I'll go ahead and throw in part two of my three part Razorback football schedule preview series. This one looks into October, a month that could possibly scar the Hogs the rest of the way. The November preview should come out around the middle of this week, so keep an eye out. I have Arkansas at four wins going into the season's final month. It's going to go down to the wire.
Tweet of the Week
I was scrolling through Twitter last night, and saw something really neat – Fan HoFer Canaan Sandy and big Brandon Lewis flexing on us all.
Just snapped it up with my boy @CanaanSandy #WPS pic.twitter.com/fPRnd03QkD
