JUCO All-America cornerback Joseph Putu just stunned the Razorbacks by sending his NLI to Florida instead of Arkansas.
Putu was a newcomer on the recruiting scene just a couple of weeks ago, but committed to the Hogs while on his official visit last weekend. He never took an official visit to Gainesville. Some of the Gators coaches did travel to North Dakota to do an in-person visit with Putu, as did Arkansas' coaches, but by all indications he was firm to the Razorbacks. Not so!
Word began leaking out early Wednesday afternoon that Putu was a Gator. After missing on Kristian Fulton earlier today, the Razorbacks are left with zero cornerbacks in this class. Arkansas didn't lose any cornerbacks off last year's team so it's not a position of urgent need, but it's hard to build depth when you sign zero players at a position. The Razorbacks did sign two safeties.
This should end what's been a pretty disappointing day for Razorback fans. It appears the Hogs will finish with 20 signees today. Bielema indicated there may be graduate transfers later on but we'll see.
