Arkansas Basketball Schedules Home Game vs Wake Forest for November 19

The Razorbacks add another major conference opponent to their non-conference schedule.

It appears Arkansas is doing what it can to build a solid non-conference schedule.

When Wake Forest announced their non-conference schedule Thursday, it included a trip to Fayetteville to take on the Razorbacks as part of the Roundball Showcase on Wednesday, November 19th. The game was then reported by WholeHogSports.

The Demon Deacons will be featuring a new coach this season in Danny Manning, the former Kansas and NBA star, and should bring an experienced squad to the Ozarks. Seven of Wake Forest's players, including three starters, were all sophomores.

They went 17-16 last season and even though their season ended in the second round of the ACC Tournament, they still notched victories over Duke and North Carolina during the season. They finished with an RPI of 112, which would make them a really solid non-conference opponent for the Hogs if they stay somewhere in that ranking range.

This is the fifth known non-conference game for the Hogs next season. They already have games scheduled at SMU on November 25th, Iowa State December 4th, and Clemson December 7th. The game against Dayton doesn't have a date yet.

If this is part of the Showcase there's no indication this is a home-and-home that will include a return trip to Winston-Salem in 2015. We'll find out for sure soon enough.

Again, according to Wake Forest, this game is part of the Roundball Showcase, but we don't know yet what other teams will be taking part in the Showcase and whether or not they'll play Arkansas. The Deacons also have games scheduled against Iona and Nicholls State as part of it, but it's unknown if Arkansas will play them. There were seven teams in the Showcase last season.

Arkansas' full basketball schedule will probably be announced within the next couple of months.
