What is there to say about Alex that hasn't already been said? 5' 11", 200 lbs, 247 ranked him as the top running back recruit in America. and other services were big on him as well. He held offers from every Florida school and most schools around the country, but chose Arkansas late in the game based on his relationship with Bret Bielema and the chance to play in the SEC.
It is a well documented saga that went down 203 days ago when Alex Collins' Mother gave Arkansas fans a scare by taking his Letter of Intent and leaving the school grounds where he intended to sign. All is well that ends well though, Alex did sign with Arkansas while wearing a full camo outfit - even the tie - and Hog fans couldn't be happier.
We know all that stuff, but is he expected to be a factor for the Hogs this season? With a depleted backfield after losing Knile Davis, Dennis Johnson, and Ronnie Wingo Jr., the Hogs will be expecting someone to run the ball this season, and Jonathan Williams probably won't be the only one. Alex Collins will be in the game in the first quarter on Saturday, but Jonathan Williams will get the first carry of the Bret Bielema era, if I had to guess.
Here's a video of some of Alex's highlights from his senior high school season. I loved what I saw from the first carry on the video where he hits the line and keeps his feet churning for about 5 extra yards. This video isn't well edited, but there is a lot of speed and power on display.
Of course when you're talking about 3, you can't forget about Special Teams Player of the Year Joe Adams. Good thing so many Razorback fans already have so many #3 jerseys. Put your #3 jersey on and watch this video. The best plays start at about the 2:30 mark.
Joe has had some issues with fumbles while returning kicks for the Carolina Panthers, and was waived due to an injured calf. It's rough for a player who saw so much success in college, but we're sure he'll find his way on to another roster before the end of the season.
