A season ago, this junior cornerback had one of the most popular jerseys on The Hill. Of course, much of that has to do with the fact that he shared jersey numbers with the starting quarterback, but this year No. 8 will still be a vital number in the Razorback lineup as the team's No. 1 cornerback, and is expected to help strengthen a lackluster pass defense that was one of the worst in the SEC a year ago.
The 6-foot-0, 185-pound DB ran a 4.4 40-yard-dash and was a coveted signee coming out of high school. Ranked the No. 17 cornerback in the country by 247sports.com, the Texas native chose the Razorbacks over offers from Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M among others.
There is no doubt Mitchel has given his all to Arkansas and has the injuries to prove it: a repaired shoulder and suffered a brutal neck injury from a collision with a teammate in "that game we don't speak of." That same week, Mitchel was forced into surgery to remove his gallbladder, and you thought your week after "that game" was hard.
