2022 4-Star Barry Dunning Commits To Arkansas

2022 4-Star Barry Dunning has committed to Arkansas! The small forward chose the Hogs over the likes of Alabama, Auburn, Memphis, Ole Miss, South Alabama, UAB, Georgia

Tech, Alabama St., and LSU.

Dunning is 6-6 and weigh 205 pounds. His athleticism matched with his long arms fit what Musselman wants from the small forward position.

The Mobile, Alabama native visited Fayetteville from June 3-5 and was blown away by what the Arkansas staff had prepared for him and his family. He is currently ranked #60 in the 247 composite rankings.

This is the 2nd recruit to commit to Arkansas for the class of 2022. 3-Star #141 Joseph Pinion of Morrilton committed back in 2020.

A commitment from a player like Dunning is becoming the new normal for Arkansas basketball. Dunning is just the 4th out-of-state 4-star recruit to Call The Hogs since 2012. Moses Kingsley, Jimmy Whitt, and Chance Moore are the other three.

Once he arrives on campus, I see Dunning playing the 4 under Musselman. He isn’t much of a shooter from 3 at this point, but his midrange game is deadly. He also provides length and versatility on defensive side of the ball.

Now the question is how will this class finish out? Will we see the Arkansas staff take 4 high school player? Maybe 5? I don’t have that answer, but it will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

In-state Kelel Ware is also a top priority. I doubt we see Arkansas take both.

Derrian Ford, Jordan Walsh, Ramel Lloyd, and Nick Smith all remain within the picture.

This class should be in the Top 10 when it is all said and done, but who will be the pieces that make up that class? Time will tell.
