The Razorbacks are hoping to have a nice group of players from Louisiana in this year's recruiting class and they picked up their 3rd commitment from the state with the pledge of linebacker De'Jon Harris.
Harris has been strongly considering Arkansas for the last few weeks ever since coming to Fayetteville for the spring game. This is what he told NOLA.com about his visit and commitment:
"When I went up there to the spring game, the coaching staff showed they were really interested in me," Harris said. "The coaches really wanted me. When they came down for our spring game, they talked to me individually. I talked to my mom and when I was up there, I actually wanted to commit.
"But I took some time to think about it, a couple of weeks to think about it, to make sure I was going to make the right decision. I told Coach Lam 'I need to stop playing games and go ahead and do it.' That's how I feel"
He chose Arkansas over offers from Oregon, Arizona State, and several other smaller schools. Harris is considered a 3* prospect by both Rivals and 247. He was an All-District player last fall after finishing with 82 tackles, including 15 tackles for a loss, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and three passes defended.
Harris is the 6th commitment in Arkansas' 2016 class and the first linebacker.
