How much will the SEC Network be worth? – Sunday evening when the Razorback/Virginia regional final was kicked to the curb for the A&M/Texas game, Arkansas folks were upset (and rightfully so). Of the more common tweets at that time was "man, the SEC network can't get here fast enough" or "the SEC Network will be worth every penny in situations like this."
While the network will be worth at least a few less headaches with ESPN programming, we're not talking about that kind of worth. Everyone wants to know what kind of money will be made with this network and distributed among the 14 schools. And while you can't exactly throw out a number yet with much accuracy because the distribution is still around 25 percent, the numbers are still astronomical.
Diamond Hogs looking to MLB Draft – The Razorbacks season ended Sunday night with a 9-2 loss at the hands of Virginia, and now its time for the program to take a little time and focus on who may or may not be turning pro/entering the draft. The MLB Draft begins Thursday and there are several Arkansas players who are not only draft eligible, but will go as high picks. The most obvious prospect the Hogs have is Brian Anderson. But there are several other key cogs in this year's club that are eligible. Click the link above for a full list of draft-eligible Hogs.
Razorbacks have one of nation's best home schedules in 2014 – This comes from Bleacher Report, and what they mean by best home schedules in the nation is that Arkansas fans will have the opportunity to watch some very quality teams play their Hogs in their home stadium. Following games with Nicholls State and UAB, Razorback fans will see Northern Illinois, Alabama, Georgia, LSU, and Ole Miss in either Fayetteville or LR.
Malik Monk Spring Update – Possibly the most prized Arkansas recruit in quite some time is making more headlines this spring. The rising junior at Bentonville has been playing in the EYBL circuit this spring with Ron Crawford's Wings Elite AAU program, and has been absolutely tearing it up. Monk, back in April, dropped an EYBL record 59 points in a single game, drawing even more attention and making some wonder if he isn't the top player in the 2016 class. And according to Nick Mason at our partner ESPN 99.5, Monk will be attending the NBA Top 100 Camp and the Kyrie Irving Camp this summer.
Biggest Challenges for Arkansas in 2014 – You can probably figure these out for yourself. The challenges seem to outweigh the things that could go in Arkansas' favor, but it won't slow down Bret Bielema and his staff from taking all of these challenges head-on. What do you see as the biggest obstacle for Arkansas this season?
Tweet of the Week
