I was afraid Bielema would give an answer like this about Allen. It seems like he's rarely definitive about how long a player will be out unless it's clear to everyone a player will be out for an extended period of time. My gut says it's an outside chance Allen plays on Friday. Perhaps if the team was still fighting for bowl eligibility it might be more likely, but since that's already taken care of, I'm not going this week expecting to see him.

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Let's just hope it doesn't come to this. Derby himself is questionable and how awful to burn a redshirt on the last - regular season - game of the year.

He's certainly got plenty of experience in that department. See all of 2013.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-partner="tweetdeck"><p>BB: Brandon Allen by nature is more reliant on the cause and effect of things. I don't even know what this means.

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Austin made a couple of big time passes in the Ole Miss game. The two field goal drives he led were huge. The question is, if he starts on Friday, how many points will the offense even need to score and will they also rely more on direct snaps to Williams/Collins?

I bet the Bret Bielema Thanksgiving feast is top notch.

Also, if the defense shuts out the opponent, there is a 99% chance they will win. (I would have said 100%, but that Wake Forest/Virginia Tech game went to OT with a 0-0 score, so you know.)

"Short" not an adjective usually used to describe Bielema. That should tell you he was in a place he does not like to be.

Are we absolutely sure there's no way to get Spaight another year? Like we can't erase one of those juco years or anything? No medical redshirts? No of those "he had mono" years Petrino used to do to get redshirts?

This ain't no three yards and a cloud of dust old Big 10 offense. But he is bringing those big linemen along with him, which is appreciated.

I hope they remind him more of Ole Miss than Mississippi State.
