Arkansas Razorbacks Internet Chatter: August 23, 2013

News, notes, and interesting stuff from around the web.

Earlier this week, the SEC released the conference schedules for the 2014 football season. Perfect timing considering the start of the 2013 season was 10 day away when it was released. Nonetheless, we found out the end of the season LSU matchup will be replaced with Missouri from now on, and the Hogs get several stadium-filling home games with Alabama, LSU, and Georgia all coming to Fayetteville.

Well, it's safe to say Arkansas is having some problems with injuries at the wide receiver position. With the loss of Mekale McKay, Demetrius Wilson, and now D'Arthur Cowan (which I knew about the day it happened), Arkansas will be leaning heavily on seniors Julian Horton and Javontee Herndon. Herndon enters as the Hogs' top receiver after catching 21 passes last year. He may need to amass that in a game this season with the lack of depth in the receiving corps at the moment.

Saturday Down South, who has been spouting out list after list lately regarding the SEC, put out a list of the top cities for sports fans, ranking them 1-14. SDS has Fayetteville really low on the list. Seriously, Fayetteville is not in the top ten. Personally, I think it's a load of crap, but I'm biased. Fayetteville really is a hidden gem of a town, is very laid back, and has a lot to offer. This is BS, SDS.

Arkansas players not named Travis Swanson or Chris Smith made a preseason All-SEC team this week when conference coaches had their say. Offensive lineman David Hurd was selected to the 3rd team offense, and Zack Hocker was also named the 3rd team place kicker. Don't panic, Travis Swanson and Chris Smith made the All-SEC first team by the conference's coaches. It's just nice to see players in addition to Swanson and Smith get recognition.

Can we ever talk too much about Darren McFadden? No, no we can't. Well, DMAC now has his own YouTube channel. The channel doesn't have just a whole lot on it so far, but it's still worth a look. I checked out all three of the videos, and one of them has a few clips from DMAC in his college which immediately gave me chills and got me hyped up for the college football season. So, here's a clip of the best of Darren McFadden to get you to my level of excitement for the college football season. Sorry for the chills.
