Derrick Munson was the first commitment in the 2017 class when he pledged back just before Signing Day a year ago. He’s the latest in a line of players Arkansas has been able to sign from the New Orleans area.
Munson is the fourth player from his high school (Archbishop Rummel) to commit to Arkansas in recent years, along with current Hogs Henre' Toliver and Dwayne Eugene, and current commit Briston Guidry.
He chose the Razorbacks over an offer from Louisville. He committed last January, and likely would have had more options if he’d chosen to look around, but he stuck with the Hogs for over a year now, and it is official.
