Arkansas Moves Into Top 20 in NCAA College Football Top 25 Polls

We’re back!

NCAA Football: Texas State at Arkansas Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

The Razorbacks are heading back to the Metroplex for the second time in three weekends with a ton of momentum. With a 3-0 record and coming off a dominant performance against Texas State, the Hogs jumped higher in this week’s top 25 polls.

Arkansas is ranked 17th in the AP Poll. That’s fifth among SEC teams and ahead of schools like LSU (18th), Florida (19th), Texas (21st), and Oklahoma (25th). The Hogs’ upcoming opponent, Texas A&M, is ranked 10th. Arkansas was ranked 24th last week but took advantage of losses by several other teams.

Who are Arkansas’ best friends among the AP Poll voters? Our best good friend is Jon Wilner of the San Jose Mercury News for voting Arkansas 8th nationally. Thanks Jon! Also, Bill Landis of the Cleveland Plain Dealer voted Arkansas 9th. Those are Arkansas’ only top 10 votes. Every voter in the poll ranked Arkansas somewhere.

The Hogs’ biggest hater is Matt Charboneau of the Detroit Free Press, who voted Arkansas last in the poll at 25th. Boo! His twitter handle is @mattcharboneau and his email is MCharboneau@detroitnews.com. He also voted TCU 17th. I don’t think he’s very good at this.

Arkansas moved up to 18th in the coaches poll. Unfortunately, we don’t get the detailed breakdown from the individual coaches until the final poll of the season, so this is all we have.
