Arkansas Recruiting Notes: January 20 - A Big Decommit and More Announcements

There's more stuff going on, as there will be most days until Signing Day. I'm not sure we'll do one of these every day, but there are a few notes to share, so here we go.

Matt Bush-USA TODAY Sports

Chris Daniels Decommits from OU

If you recall from yesterday's notes, Daniels is the 4-star defensive tackle from Texas who is a native Arkansan. The Razorbacks offered Daniels earlier this week and some assistants visited him in-home on Monday. He has taken an official visit to Texas and currently has visits planned to Tennessee and A&M. Richard Davenport reports that Bielema has an in-home visit scheduled with Daniels next week, so we'll see if they can convince him to cancel his last visit and come to Fayetteville instead.

Kapri Doucet Sets Announcement Date

Doucet is the juco linebacker recently offered by the Hogs. His finalists are Arkansas, Oklahoma and Louisville. By Monday, Arkansas is the only one of the three schools he will not have visited yet, so this likely isn't a good sign. It remains to be seen if Bielema would target another juco linebacker if Doucet picks elsewhere.

Kristian Fulton Prepares for Official Visit

Fulton is the 5* cornerback from the New Orleans area who will be visiting the Hogs this weekend along with teammate and Hog commit 4* DT Briston Guidry. The Hogs already have two current players from their high school in Henre' Toliver and Dwayne Eugene - the four of them are pictured on the recruiting poster in Fulton's second tweet.

Michael Smith and Robb Smith both visited him on Wednesday.

Another one of Arkansas' commits from Louisiana, linebacker De'Jon Harris, is working on getting Fulton on board with the Hogs.

Tramal Ivy Sets Official Visit Date

Ivy will be in Fayetteville during the last weekend. He recently tweeted his top three finalists are Arkansas, Nebraska, and USF.

Devwah Whaley Recruiting for Arkansas

Brandon Jones is the 4* safety from Texas who is planning on visiting Arkansas this weekend, and his fellow Lone Star athlete Devwah Whaley is obviously trying to pump up the Hogs a bit. That's always nice to see.

Bielema Heads to South Arkansas

I thought this was pretty cool. Bielema, Dan Enos, and Barry Lunney spent a large part of the day in Smackover and El Dorado doing an in-home visit with Jordan Jones, the wide receiver commit who was Arkansas' first commit in this class way back when. Wednesday was Jones' birthday.
