Oklahoma State is the 1-seed 37-18.
Arkansas will take on Oral Roberts Friday afternoon at noon in the first game of the regional. St. John's is the 4-seed with a 39-14 record. The Arkansas vs. Oral Roberts game will be televised on the SEC Network.
The winner of the regional will take on the winner of the Springfield regional, hosted by Missouri State. Iowa, Oregon, and Canisius are the other three teams in that regional.
However, AND THIS IS REALLY GREAT NEWS, Missouri State can't host the super regional because of a stadium conflict with the Springfield Cardinals, the local AA team. Therefore, if Arkansas wins the Stillwater regional, the supers will take place at Baum Stadium in Fayetteville.
But obviously, the Hogs have to get out of Stillwater first. The Cowboys ended the season ranked 11th in the country according to D1baseball.com and 12th in Baseball America's standings. They're certainly no pushover. Their season highlights include sweeping Dallas Baptist and winning a weekend series at TCU.
Dave Van Horn announced shortly after the Selection Show that he'll likely go with Trey Killian on the mound vs Oral Roberts and they'll continue to evaluate Keaton McKinney, whose hip was bothering him in the SEC Tournament last week. McKinney would likely start the second game if he's available.
In all, seven SEC teams made the field. LSU and Florida are national seeds while Texas A&M and Vanderbilt are also hosting. Auburn and Ole Miss are the other two participants. Seven league entries ties with the ACC for the most nationally.
In other news: Arkansas now has the SEC's longest active NCAA Tournament appearance streak since South Carolina didn't make the cut this year. The Hogs have made the tournament every year since 2001.
