Willie Sykes Commits To Arkansas; Flips From Nebraska

Cornerback 6' 0" 174 lbs Spring, Texas

Arkansas has won it's first recruiting battle the night before Signing Day, and it is from a major B1G school.

Cornerback Willie Sykes has surprisingly committed to Arkansas despite never taking a visit to Fayetteville.

Sykes is a consensus 3-star safety from Spring, Texas that has a grade of 85 on 247Sports. He had offers from Washington State, Purdue, Minnesota and Utah among others. He had been committed to Nebraska. He took official visits Nebraska, Washington State, Purdue and Minnesota, but never made the trip down to Fayetteville.

Sykes projects as a safety in Fayetteville. It is a position Arkansas only had one commit so Sykes provides some stability that the Hogs needed.

Sykes was Arkansas' 23rd commitment for the 2015 class. The class is still steady at 21st in the nation, would be good for one of the better classes in recent history at Arkansas. Bret Bielema has 2 more scholarships to hand out.
