Arkansas Basketball Recruiting: Arlando Cook Commits to the Razorbacks

Power Forward 6'9" 215 lbs. Connors State C.C.

Ok, let's try this again. We had an Arlando Cook commitment story written and ready to go last month, but deleted it when he picked Nevada, but we have a feeling it will stick this time.

Another big juco pickup for Mike Anderson, and this time in the backcourt, where the Hogs really need some instant impact players.

Cook is a power forward who last year averaged 11.4 points per game on 57.2% shooting, as well as 9.3 rebounds per game. His Connors State team played a game in Little Rock Tuesday night, and Mike Anderson and T.J. Cleveland were in attendance. He took an unofficial visit to Arkansas in August. We're not totally sure why he chose Nevada last month, or what changed to put him back on Arkansas' radar, but it seems to have worked out.

Cook is a 4-star prospect on at least one recruiting service. He had offers from LSU, Missouri, Memphis, Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Ole Miss and others. Connors State is hyping him as a juco All-American candidate.

Cook is the fourth commitment in Arkansas' 2016 class, and third juco commitment. At this point, Arkansas will have a big junior class in 2017 with Cook, Daryl Macon, Jaylen Barford, Trey Thompson, and possibly Anton Beard and Dustin Thomas depending on what happens with their legal situation.
