Poll: Why Is Baseball Arkansas' Most Consistent Sport?

2001 was the last time an Arkansas baseball season ended without a spot in the NCAA post season tournament

Bruce Thorson-US PRESSWIRE

Another Razorback baseball regular season is in the books, and the Hogs are heading to a Regional for the 13th straight season.  It's a familiar feeling for Arkansas fans. Even when reports had Arkansas squarely on the bubble to make the NCAA Tournament, did anyone really feel like the Razorbacks wouldn't make it?

In fact it's even getting pretty familiar to see the Diamond Hogs travel to an out of state regional and feel like they can win.  The last two trips to Omaha came from winning both the Regional and Super Regional on the road.

Of the three major sports, football, basketball, and baseball, it's very clear to see that the baseball team is the most consistent, and arguments could even be made to say that the baseball team is more consistent than the track programs.

What has made this program so consistent when compared to the other big sports?

Is it the top notch facilities with Baum Stadium being one of the premiere college baseball venues in the US?

Is it the head coach?  Dave Van Horn has been the Arkansas Baseball Head Coach since 2003.

Can it be said that it's just easier to be better at baseball then football or basketball?
