Arkansas Razorbacks Internet Chatter: March 13, 2014 - SEC Baseball Begins, Basketball Attendance, Zach Hocker

News, notes and interesting reads for Hog fans.

Nelson Chenault-USA TODAY Sports

SEC Baseball – I know by now we're all terminally ill with #SECBasketballFlu, but conference baseball begins this weekend for Arkansas. The Razorbacks continue its long road trip by heading down to Gainesville. Arkansas had a less-than-stellar non-conference season, but I've laid out a few things the Razorbacks need to do to find success in SEC play, like hit the ball, score more runs and throw no-hitters.

Basketball Attendance – It wasn't just 13 of the 14 teams in the SEC who were affected by the fever. The fans caught it, those who actually did attend games, caught it also, causing attendance to plummet. You'll just have to see the numbers for yourself. Some of them are just downright sad. You're telling me only 7,300 fans come out to watch Marshall Henderson in Oxford? Shame on you Ole Miss fans. The Hogs' attendance numbers were one of the few positives.

Zach Hocker – I often forget Arkansas kicker Zach Hocker won't be back next year, but when I do I often sob. Hocker, like Chris Smith, Travis Swanson and others are preparing for the NFL Draft. Otis Kirk with Arkansas' 247 Sports site did a nice writeup on how the sure-footed kicker is prepping for one of the major turning points in his career. Here's the story.

???? – I searched and searched for another interesting article for you guys to read, but I ended up just finding myself of Hogville reading a thread about how cheap Wal-Mart Razorback merchandise is. The discussion went from the apparel being cheap to arguing what the traditional colors of Arkansas are before finally reverting to why someone would buy their Hog merch at Wally World in the first place.

Tweet(s) of the Week

This week's tweet of the week actually comes from an Arkansas fan. To be more clear, this is a grown man telling Mardracus Wade that it's past his bed time. Seriously. Give me a freaking break. I swear some people shouldn't be allowed to own a Twitter account. Give it a rest @Arkswampdonkey.

Swamp Donkey Update:

He's at it again.
