Another sign for progress and freedom in America, the University of Arkansas announced on Wednesday that beginning with the upcoming football season, pending approval of a license, will begin selling beer and wine throughout the indoor club areas.
We do not know what type of beer/wine they will be selling, nor how much they plan on marking up their prices.
We do know this, the indoor club seating just became much more attractive AND LOTS MORE FUN. I'm not sure how ticket sales are going this offseason, but it will be fun to see how many more requests for indoor club seating they receive.
Here are the FAQs from the university press release:
Where will fans be able to purchase beer and wine?
If Sodexo's application for a license is approved, beer and wine will be available for purchase at locations within the east indoor club, the south indoor club and the indoor dining area of the south outdoor club of Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.
Will mixed drinks and other types of alcoholic beverages be available for purchase?
No, only a selection of beer and wine will be made available for purchase.
May fans under 21 years of age consume alcohol in club areas?
No, the consumption of alcohol by those under the age of 21 is strictly prohibited by Arkansas law and University policy.
Will beer and wine be available for purchase in other areas of the stadium including the main seating bowl?
No, SEC policy prohibits the sale of alcohol in general seating areas and public areas of on-campus venues.
May I purchase beer or wine in a club area and then return to my seat outside an assigned club area?
No. All beer and wine sales and consumption ARE RESTRICTED to the designated club areas. For those in the south outdoor club, alcoholic beverages must be consumed or disposed of before returning to the outdoor seating section of that club.
