Draft Profile: Ryan Pulley

The Mercurial Underclassman Seeks NFL Glory

NCAA Football: Arkansas at Mississippi State Justin Ford-USA TODAY Sports

Who?

Ryan Pulley

What Position?

Cornerback

How Big?

He has a big heart

Yeah, but like actual numbers

5’-11”, 209 lbs

Strengths:

  • Strong press corner
  • Vocal leader in pre-snap analysis
  • Great football IQ
  • Great at downfield coverage, forcing receivers outside
  • Good handwork to force incompletions
  • Competitive

Weaknesses:

  • Missed 2017 with pec injury
  • Had some less than desirable off field instances
  • According to scouts, has “inconsistent effort getting off blocks”

The Skinny:

Ryan Pulley had a promising start to his career that was cut short by injuries and extra-curricular issues. It’s hard to know how good he could’ve been, because the physical tools were always there. Pulley was probably the best pure corner on the Arkansas defense when he was healthy, and has a game that could translate well to the pro game. Hopefully, the issues with getting too heated on the field, and too flirty off of it remain isolated incidents.

Projected Round:

Seventh Round or Priority Free Agent

Who Would He Be If He Was An Avenger:

Star-Lord
