Draft Profile: Dre Greenlaw

The Hometown Favorite Gets Ready for the Big League

NCAA Football: Belk Bowl-Arkansas vs Virginia Tech Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

Who?

Dre Greenlaw

What Position?

Linebacker

How Big?

Medium big

Yeah, but like actual numbers

5’-11”, 237 lbs

Strengths:

  • Started all four years of college
  • Nose for the football
  • Great sideline to sideline movement
  • NFL-quality speed
  • Good enough to play Man Coverage in NFL

Weaknesses:

  • Described by scouts as undersized
  • Apparently lacks “downhill running ability”
  • Scouts say he needs to “find more dog inside him”

The Skinny:

Dre Greenlaw is one of the more inspiring stories to come out of Arkansas in a long time. After spending six years as a ward of the state of Arkansas, Greenlaw was adopted, became a standout high schools linebacker, and went on to be one of the most dependable Hogs on defense. He earned All-Freshman honors, and was very productive when he could avoid the injuries that plagued his playing career. Back and healthy, he projects to be a special teams player, but has the work ethic to be more.

Projected Round:

Seventh Round or Priority Free Agent

Who Would He Be If He Was An Avenger:

Spider-Man
