Arkansas Recruiting News: Jarques McClellion Commits to the Razorbacks

Cornerback / 6’0” / 190 lbs. / Delray Beach, Florida

The Hogs’ commitment streak keeps going. This time it’s a cornerback from Florida, Jarques McClellion, and he’s the seventh commitment for Arkansas this month.

McClellion has one of the best offer lists an Arkansas commit has had this year. He chose the Razorbacks over Michigan State, Wisconsin, Louisville, West Virginia, Nebraska, Kentucky, and many more. He’s rated a 3-star prospect on both Rivals and 24/7.

Arkansas offered McClellion back in February, so he’s a prospect the Hogs have wanted since early on. For his junior season, he made 45 tackles, 8 interceptions, and 6 pass breakups while maintaining a 3.8 GPA and leading his team to the state championship game.

This is the second consecutive defensive back commitment for the Hogs, following Georgia’s Korey Hernandez a few days ago. Cornerback in particular is a priority for Arkansas in this class since the Razorbacks’ only cornerback signee in the 2016 class was Britto Tutt, a late signee and junior college transfer.

This is the 16th commitment for Arkansas in the 2017 class.
