Tyrie Cleveland Signs with Florida on National Signing Day over Arkansas

National Signing Day isn't off to the best start.

Reinhold Matay-USA TODAY Sports

Arkansas was hoping to start Signing Day with a big splash, but it wasn't to be. Houston wideout Tyrie Cleveland signed with Florida over the Hogs in a lengthy ceremony at his high school.

Cleveland officially visited Arkansas during the big January 22nd recruiting weekend and according to several accounts, Arkansas did a really good job of winning over his family. Multiple analysts even made Crystal Ball predictions for Cleveland to Arkansas on 247Sports. But it didn't work out.

It appears Arkansas will finish its 2016 recruiting class with Jordan Jones and Kofi Boateng. T.J. Hammonds is projected as a running back/receiver hybrid, so he'll split out wide on occasion as well, most likely. Arkansas had a commitment from athlete Kiel Pollard for a few months until this past Sunday when he flipped to South Carolina, so it looks like the Hogs closed with receivers pretty badly, missing out on both Pollard and Cleveland.
