Arkansas Recruiting: Jarrod Barnes Commits to the Razorbacks

Athlete (WR/CB) 5'11" 167 lbs. Cabot, Arkansas

The Razorbacks have made one in-state offer so far for the 2017 recruiting class, and now they're batting 1.000. Cabot's Jarrod Barnes committed to Arkansas on Richard Davenport's Recruiting Thursday radio show.

Barnes played quarterback for Cabot, but as you can see from his highlight video, most of his plays are him running the ball. Multiple reporters are saying he's expected to play receiver for Arkansas. Since the Hogs only signed two receivers in 2016, expect that to be a high-priority position group this year.

He ran the ball 111 times for 1,090 yards and 17 touchdowns last fall for the Panthers.

Still this early in the recruiting calendar, Barnes has not been rated by the recruiting services and reported no offers other than the Razorbacks. He's the second commitment in the 2017 class, joining Derrick Munson from Metairie, Louisiana.
