Arkansas Razorbacks Spring Practice Report - March 31st

The team is back and in pads for the first time since Spring Break

@RazorbackFB

And we're back! The Hogs returned from spring break and with basketball season now over (save for waiting on a pair of important decisions) we can turn most of our attention back to football and spring practice. There will be 11 practices between Tuesday and the spring game in late April.

I'm not sure how much we'll be able to take away from a routine practice that's not even a full scrimmage, but here's some things we were able to pull from Twitter and elsewhere:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>The offensive line is going to be one of the five best in FBS.</p>&mdash; Eric Bolin (@ericwbolin) <a href="https://twitter.com/ericwbolin/status/583052172868341761">March 31, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>JoJo Robinson and Randy Ramsey are gonna hafta up their try-hard.</p>&mdash; Eric Bolin (@ericwbolin) <a href="https://twitter.com/ericwbolin/status/583052047269908480">March 31, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

He also had good things to say about Ty Storey. Although...

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-partner="tweetdeck"><p>Fuller: Austin Allen has the leg up for backup, but the other two guys are very talented and could make things interesting.</p>&mdash; Sports Rap-ESPN 99.5 (@SportsRapESPN) <a href="https://twitter.com/SportsRapESPN/status/583035046971379712">March 31, 2015</a></blockquote>

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Fuller: Dan Enos is bringing a lot of progression with Brandon Allen.</p>&mdash; Sports Rap-ESPN 99.5 (@SportsRapESPN) <a href="https://twitter.com/SportsRapESPN/status/583034888804167681">March 31, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Local radio guy Ugly Uncle posted a full report to his Facebook page, which you can read here.

Here are the relevant tidbits from UA:

  • Junior tight end Hunter Henry was a popular and reliable target for junior quarterback Brandon Allen in seven-on-seven drills. Henry leads a young corps of tight ends that includes returners senior Alex Voelzke and junior Jeremy Sprinkle.
  • Freshman early enrollee Will Gragg also got in the mix for the Razorbacks in his fourth practice as a Razorback, showcasing his ability to tower over a defender.
  • Sophomore defensive back Josh Liddell also impressed in individual and seven-on-seven drills. The Pine Bluff, Arkansas native ended his true freshman season as a starter at safety and will look to fill the shoes of graduated captain and vocal leader of the secondary, Alan Turner.
  • On the defensive line, junior Deatrich Wise swiftly swatted down a pass while junior JaMichael Wintson showcased his nose for the ball in fumble recovery drills.

The official Razorback football twitter feed @RazorbackFB has lots of short videos mainly of players going through drills, if that's the kind of thing you'd like to watch.
