Arkansas Razorbacks Internet Chatter - May 30, 2014: New Quarterback, Football Predictions, Bielema, CWS Picks

News, notes, and interesting stuff from around these here Interwebz.

Razorbacks add new quarterback: Troy Allison of McGregor, Texas agreed to become a Hog this week as a preferred walk-on. Allison is a 6'2" 185 lb mobile quarterback who threw for over 8,000 yards and rushed for over 2,000 yards in his high school career. According to Richard Davenport's story, he's a very hard worker and could grow to become even taller.

Apparently, schools like Boise State and North Texas were showing interest but didn't offer because he had low ACT scores, but he ended up passing the test recently and is now qualified to play at Arkansas.  Welcome aboard, Troy!

Glass half full or empty? Whatever you're predicting for the Razorbacks this fall probably says something about how much of an optimist or pessimist you are. Or maybe you're just a realist. Barrett Sallee from Bleacher Report gives his optimistic, pessimistic, and realistic predictions for how each SEC West team will fare this season. Personally, I'd add Texas A&M to his list of winnable games for Arkansas.

CBS' Jeremy Fowler on Bret Bielema: There were lots of columns and blog posts about Bret Bielema stemming from SEC Spring Meetings. This is probably the best one.

Dave Perno is clearly the best college baseball analyst at ESPN: Perno has picked Arkansas to make it to Omaha. he's the only one of their analysts to do so. Everyone else picked Virginia.

Baseball America Previews Charlottesville: Know everything you need to know about the Regional that begins in just a few hours.  Should be a fun weekend.
