Rafe Peavey Signs With Arkansas

QB 6-2, 210 Bolivar High School (Bolivar, MO)

Arkansas has signed the first player to commit to them this season with Bolivar, MO signal caller Rafe Peavey. Peavey has never deterred from his commitment and has served as a UA ambassador of sorts for other recruits around the country. The greatest thing about him is how excited he is to be a Razorback.

A four star recruit according to most recruiting services, Peavy is the 8th rated gunslinger in the nation. And why not? He accumulated 8,708 yards from scrimmage throughout his career all while producing a 30-5 record. This dual threat could thrive in Bret Bielema's system and could be used more like former Wisconsin quarterback and recent Super Bowl champion Russell Wilson.

Okay, maybe I'm getting ahead of myself, but there may or may not be some heated competition for Brandon Allen's spot this fall.

After a senior year where he completed 69% of his passes for 16 scores and just four picks all while running 187 times for 1,557 yards (an average of 8.3 yards per carry) for 27 touchdowns, perhaps this is more the kind of guy Bielema has in mind to run the offense.

I can't be the only one salivating over the possibility of some kind of Peavy/Williams/Collins option stuff in the backfield. Peavy finished his prep career with a 67% completion percentage, 5,990 yards, 54 touchdowns and only 12 picks. He rushed for 2,718 yards with an average of 7.92 yards per carry and 53 touchdowns.
