Arkansas started one of the youngest offensive lines in the SEC in 2013, even including two true freshmen in the starting lineup much of the year. Fortunately, the Hogs got what they hope will be a boost in that department with the commitment of juco offensive tackle Sebastian Tretola.
Tretola is rated as a 4* recruit on 24/7 and a 3* on Rivals, but reports an impressive offer list in choosing the Razorbacks over Oklahoma, TCU, Florida, South Florida, Texas Tech, Cincinnati, and others.
Just like Arkansas' most recent commitment Cody Hollister, Tretola redshirted at Nevada as a freshman before transferring to Iowa Western. Here's his profile from NevadaWolfPack.com:
High School
A graduate of Cajon High School in San Bernardino, Calif. ... Was a two-time first-team all-league selection in football who earned all-county honors as a senior in 2009 ... Was part of a San Andreas League championship team in 2008 as a junior ... Also lettered in basketball.
Personal
Born Sebastian Giovanni Andre Tretola on May 1, 1992 ... Son of Michael Smith and Mary Tretola ... Has a younger brother, Mikoe, and a younger sister, Justice ... Majoring in community health sciences and wants to be an athletic trainer ... Father played football at Washington ... Was recruited by a number of schools including UCLA, Florida State, Texas Tech, San Diego State and UNLV but chose Nevada because of the Pistol offense and the efficient run game ... Enjoys playing basketball in his free time and lists Michael Jordan as his sports hero.
Since Tretola redshirted in Reno in 2011, then played two seasons at Iowa Western, he has two years to play two seasons in Fayetteville. He will not be redshirting. He is a midterm graduate, so he is expected to enroll at Arkansas in the spring.
