Arkansas Razorbacks Internet Chatter: December 16, 2013 - Kikko's Birthday, Charlie Partridge To FAU, Recruiting, Canaan Sandy

News, notes, and interesting reads for Hog fans. IT'S KIKKO'S BIRTHDAY, Y'ALL!

Beth Hall-USA TODAY Sports

KIKKKOOOOOOOOO – Today is Kikko Haydar's birthday, you guys. This month has been a good one for Haydar, earning the first two starts of his career against Southeastern Lousiana and Clemson as part of Mike Anderson's All-Arkansas starting lineup. Haydar is a terrific story. He's a homegrown kid from Fayetteville, winning state titles with Fred Gulley in high school. Both of his parents are professors at the U of A, and Haydar has an extremely bright future after basketball. He has come a long way since being the guy that only played in mop-up time just a few years ago. Let's wish our catalyst a very happy birthday today.

Partridge to FAU – The timing for this news to break couldn't have been worse. Rumors that Charlie Partridge would be named the next head football coach at Florida Atlantic came during a very important recruiting weekend. How do I know it was important? The recruits were playing NCAA Football on the jumbotron inside the stadium.

Arkansas now has its own one-and-done as far as coaches go. If there was one part of the Razorback defense that was actually worth something this season, it was the defensive line. I hate to see Partridge go, and I hope it doesn't effect the recruits we have committed.

Recruiting Class – So how exactly is that 2014 recruiting class looking right now? It's the 38th best class in the nation ... but it's good for dead last in the SEC, according to 247 Sports. It's better than USC, Texas Tech, and Kansas State's class, but people don't care about that. What they see is that it's worse than Kentucky and Vanderbilt's. The class took a hit with the decommitment of WR Jared Cornelius, citing Arkansas' run first offense as his reason.

Swanson Honored – The Razorback senior captain and center was named a first-team All-American by the good people here at SB Nation. This honor marks the third recognition for Swanson as an All-American, and his second first-team selection. He was also named to six All-SEC teams by the likes of ESPN.com, Sporting News, and the Associated Press. The honors are no surprise to anyone who watched Arkansas football this season. He may not be finished with his awards, however. Swanson is also a finalist for the Rimington Trophy for the nation's top center.

Fan Hall of Fame – In more heartwarming news, it was announced Monday morning that die-hard Arkansas Razorback fan Canaan Sandy has been named an inductee into the ESPN #FanHallOfFame. Congrats, Canaan. And Go Hogs.
