Arkansas Recruiting: Ravian Pierce Commits to the Razorbacks!

Tight end 6'4" 215 lbs. Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Nelson Chenault-USA TODAY Sports

The Hogs picked up their first commitment since the season started with the addition of tight end Ravian Pierce. Pierce played both defensive end and tight end in high school but Arkansas' recruiting reporters all say he'll be a tight end in Fayetteville.

He was Alex Collins' teammate at South Plantation High School, and according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinal, Collins was a big factor in Pierce's recruitment.

Pierce reported offers from the likes of Florida, Georgia, Miami, Florida State, Ohio State, and many more. Both 24/7 and Rivals rate him a 3* prospect.

Here's a highlight video from ESPN:

Pierce took an official visit to Arkansas for the Texas A&M game and Charlie Partridge is his lead recruiter. This is the latest success story in Arkansas efforts to develop recruiting pipelines to South Florida. Partridge and Randy Shannon both have deep connections to the region.

This is the 17th commitment in the Razorbacks' class of 2014.
