Arkansas Adds 5th Transfer Of Offseason

Trey Wade Commits To Arkansas

The Importer strikes again!

This time with Wichita State transfer Trey Wade. The Marietta, Georgia native started his career at UTEP then transferred to a JUCO school for 1 year before playing the last 2 seasons at Wichita State.

He is 6-6 and weighs 220 pounds. Wade has been a consistent starter for the Shockers the past 2 seasons.

Over his 3 seasons playing Division 1 basketball, Wade has averaged 7.1 points, 5.2 rebounds and 32.6% from 3.

He is the 5th transfer to call the Hogs this offseason.

I like this move for Arkansas for this reason:

DEPTH

You never know what can go wrong in a season. You never know who could be in foul trouble during a game. Personally, I like depth pieces that can defend and rebound. Trey Wade can do both. While I don’t know if he will have a big impact on the regular rotation, if needed, I believe he can be up to the task. This Arkansas team has plenty of scoring so a depth piece that defends is what I like to see with this spot.

Arkansas now has just 1 scholarship remaining. The question is, will they fill it? Will they wait until the draft deadline is over and bring in a player that decides to transfer late? Will they hold the scholarship over to the class of 2022? Time will tell, but more and more I am learning to trust what Eric Musselman is doing.
