Jaxson Robinson Commits To Arkansas
Former 2021 top 50 recruit and Texas A&M Aggie Jaxson Robinson has committed to Arkansas. The Importer strikes again!
Robinson is from Ada, Oklahoma and had a relationship with Eric Musselman going back to July of 2019 when he was first offered by Arkansas.
The high school standout went on to visit the Arkansas campus a handful of times over the next year.
I attended the Kentucky @ Arkansas game in January of 2020 and so did Robinson. But just 5 days later he committed to Texas A&M out of nowhere.
Hog fans were shocked. Insiders were surprised. Robinson later announced that he would be reclassifying to the 2020 class. That was it. A&M allowed him to come early and that was enough to make him an Aggie.
He appeared in just 14 games for A&M last season. The Aggies went an entire month without playing a game due to COVID issues. Robinson was the age of a high school senior while practicing and playing SEC level basketball.
He now comes to Arkansas with a year of limited SEC experience and a play style that fits him.
He is 6-7 and very versatile. His athleticism makes his ceiling very high. He’s also a great shooter.
Eric Musselman may not have won the battle for Jaxson Robinson the first time around, but he did the 2nd time.
I don’t expect Robinson to contribute a ton this season because Arkansas has a loaded roster, but he will be a huge part of the team’s success in future years.
Arkansas now has 2 open scholarships to play with. The Hogs are almost a unanimous preseason Top 10 team at this point. With these 2 spots remaining, there is no ceiling to this team!
