Arkansas 81 Kentucky 80
Wow! What a win for Arkansas.
Kentucky may have played their best game all year, but Arkansas never folded. That is what is most encouraging to me. They didn’t fold.
How many times in the last decade have we seen Arkansas fold in the final minutes. These Hogs were at Rupp and took punch after punch. Yet, they threw punch after punch back.
Arkansas built several 8-12 points leads in the 2nd half, but Kentucky would not go away. The Wildcats made 14 three pointers tonight. By far the best shooting performance they have had all season.
Jalen Tate got an offensive rebound with 4 seconds left and drew a foul that sent him to the line down by 1. Tate made both free throws.
Devo Davis stole the ball on the Kentucky’s final possession to clinch the game for the Razorbacks.
Moses Moody scored 14 points, had 7 rebounds, and 1 steal.
Connor Vanover had 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 blocks.
J.D. Notae recorded 11 points, 2 assists, and 1 steal.
Jalen Tate tallied 15 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal.
Arkansas shot 18-23 from the free throw line for the game with 15-17 in the 2nd half.
The Hogs had to win tonight. This counts as a Q2 win for their resumé right now, but Kentucky has a favorable schedule ahead. They very easily could move back into Q1 territory. Hogs fans should be rooting for the Wildcats the rest of the way.
Arkansas heads to Missouri on Saturday with revenge in mind. The Hogs play at 3pm.
