Arkansas Men’s Basketball announced the hiring of David Patrick as Associate Head Coach on Wednesday afternoon. Patrick comes to Fayetteville from UC-Riverside where he was the Head Coach. Chris Crutchfield left for a Division II head coaching gig in Oklahoma a month ago. Head Coach Eric Musselman has found his replacement in David Patrick.
David Patrick, born in Australia, played his college ball at Syracuse and Louisiana-Lafayette. He has had assistant coaching stops at Nicholls State, St. Mary’s, LSU, and TCU.
While at LSU, Patrick helped recruit the #3 and #5 recruiting classes in 2013 and 2015 and while at TCU, he helped lead the Horned Frogs to their first NCAA Tournament in over 20 years.
In just 2 seasons at UC Riverside, Patrick had already began to build a solid program in the Big West Conference. In the 2019-20 season, he led Riverside to the school’s Division I single season win record at 17.
He is the godfather of NBA star Ben Simmons.
