Biggest And Best Games Of The Series

March 15, 1998 – SEC Tournament Quarterfinal

Tennessee 96 vs. #16 Arkansas 102

The 16th ranked Hogs played a barn burner against the Vols in the SEC Semis. Pat Bradley, Tarik Wallace, Kareem Reid, and Sunday Adebayo all scored 17 or more points. 11 three point field goals were enough to put the Hogs over the top, 102-96.

February 7, 2001

#10 Tennessee 77 @ Arkansas 82 OT

Joe Johnson had 20 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Hogs. Jannero Pargo added 17 points on 5 made threes and Carl Baker had 16 points and 8 rebounds. This Tennessee team was ranked in the Top 10 all season, but the loss to Arkansas started a 5 game losing streak that hurt their seeding the NCAA Tournament.

Arkansas 73 @ #10 Tennessee 69

Just 5 years later, the Hogs took down another Tennessee team ranked #10. This time Arkansas won by dominating the boards and moving the basketball. The Hogs won the rebounding battle 45 to 24 while assisting on 24 of their 30 made baskets. Johnathan Modica had 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists.

March 15, 2008 – SEC Tournament Semifinal

#4 Tennessee 91 vs. Arkansas 92

Who could forget this classic? Arkansas was making a run in the SEC Tournament, but had to go through the best team in the conference. Charles Thomas had 24 points and 10 rebounds off the bench. It was a back and forth battle all game, but Steven Hill’s turnaround jumper with 5.3 seconds lifted the Hogs to the win.

#19 Tennessee 93 @ Arkansas 95 OT

This is the best Arkansas game I have ever attended. Arkansas played terrible for 75% of the game, but mounted a great comeback to force OT. Jaylen Barford and Daryl Macon combined for 61 points while Daniel Gafford added 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 blocks. Bud Walton was rocking that day!

January 29, 1994

#5 Arkansas 65 @ Tennessee 64

The eventual National Champs were in Knoxville and were held in check offensively. The Hogs were outrebounded by 14 and shot just 52.9% from the free throw line. Down 2, Scott Thurman made a 3 with 9.3 seconds to give Arkansas the road win.
