Two Razorbacks Named SEC Players of the Week

You don’t see this very often. The SEC announced their players of the week honors at noon on Monday and boy would you look at that: two Arkansas Razorbacks were named co-defensive players of the week. Not two from separate teams. Two guys, same team and same defense that shut down the Air Raid on Saturday versus Mississippi State.

You could not have written a better script for the Razorbacks on Saturday. They went on to win a nail biter against the Bulldogs behind a defense that was more physical than any defense the Razorbacks have fielded in nearly six seasons. In that defense was a pair of players who played their career best games in a Razorback uniform.

Joe Foucha, a junior safety out of the state of Louisiana, had a career high two interceptions versus the Bulldogs. Foucha also recorded 2 tackles.

Bumper Pool, a kid who’s dream was to be a Razorback, recorded a career high 20 tackles. Pool seemed to be all over the place on Saturday delivering timely hits, wrapping up effectively and even deflecting passes over the middle. The latter of which he has done well in his career as a Razorbacks.

The Razorbacks look forward to Saturday as they head back on the road to face an Auburn Tigers team that fell victim to the Georgia Bulldogs in a 27-6 decision. The game will be played at 3 pm Saturday and broadcast by the SEC Network.
