Meet Bailey Ward

Hey y’all!

My name is Bailey Ward and I have been the social media manager for Arkansas Fight since October of 2018. I am so excited for the opportunity to expand my role and write articles about Arkansas sports.

A Little About Me

Even though I am Oklahoma born and raised, I’m an Arkansas fan through and through. I was calling the Hogs before I could even talk, thanks to my Papa Benny. (No, seriously. Thank you so much for sharing your love of sports and the Hogs with me, Papa!)

I am a huge sports fan. My favorite sport is basketball and I count down the days until the season starts. I love going to the Bud Walton Arena and cheering for my Hogs. I am also a big football fan. I love the energy of gameday! So ready to see what the Razorbacks bring to the field next season!

I am obsessed with Fayetteville and absolutely love the environment here. I am working on a bachelor’s degree in Criminology here at the University. I’m a senior in my last semester and cannot wait to get my name engraved on our gorgeous campus forever.

Woman’s Perspective

Two quick facts about me: I am a sports fan and I am a woman. The sports industry is traditionally overrun with men and I’m excited to represent women in sports. My dream would be to end up being the next Erin Andrews!

Goals

I am looking forward to expanding our reach and content. I’ve met with Tucker (our site manager), and I think he has some great ideas. I hope to gain an even bigger presence among Arkansas sports fans and post content that keeps everyone entertained, engaged, and in the know. I am excited to see the site grow and get Arkansas sports news out in a fun, personable way.

My favorite Arkansas Football Win

Firing Bret Bielema, let’s be real. ;)

There is nothing like football season in Fayetteville. I absolutely love getting all dressed up in school colors, tailgating, and cheering on the Hogs with my fellow Razorback fans.

Hard to choose a favorite, but I’m going to go with the blowout win against the Texas Longhorns in 2014. Being from a Big 12 state, I had a lot of fun celebrating our crushing victory as well as basking in the blessing of cheering for an SEC team.

My Favorite Basketball Win

This is a tough one for me because basketball is my favorite. There have been so many standout games. I can often be found in Bud Walton Arena “coaching” from the stands. I was even given the giant Coach Anderson head once during a game because of my game time commentary. I am so excited to see what next season and Coach Musselman bring!

Okay, down to the good stuff. While “The Dunk” against Kentucky was insane to see (yes, I was there screaming like a crazy person), I have to go with Scotty Thurman’s dagger against Duke in the NCAA Tournament championship game, 1994. Still gives me chills to this day!

In Summation

I am so happy to be a part of such a great team here at Arkansas Fight. I’m ready to see what next year brings us and I am excited to expand my role. Is it football season yet?? Woo Pig forever!
