Hoop Hogs Blown Out By Vols

Tennessee was too much for the Hogs

NCAA Basketball: Arkansas at Tennessee Randy Sartin-USA TODAY Sports

Tennessee looked every bit the top-5 team they are and the Hogs, well, the Hogs looked like they have the past month or so. You put all of that together and you get a 106-87 blowout that really wasn’t even that close.

The Hogs looked completely overmatched from the opening tip, and the Vols jumped out to a 23-6 lead. One of the most efficient offensive teams in the country, Tennessee continued that hitting over 60% of their 3’s. Arkansas couldn’t stop the Volunteers’ bench as Jodran Bowden and Lamonte Turner came off the bench and hit a combined 8/10 three pointers. They were the Vols’ leading scorers.

If there’s one good sign for the Hogs in this one, it’s hopefully that Isaiah Joe shot out of his slump. He was 7/13 from deep and finished with a game high 23 points. Mason Jones ended the game with 18 points, seven rebounds, and six assists, and Daniel Gafford and Reggie Chaney were in double figures as well.

There really wasn’t any drama in this one, and the Hogs were overmatched from the start, so if you made it all the way through that game you deserve something as a reward.

So here’s a very good boy playing in the snow.
