You certainly can’t blame the new coaching staff for trying to address deficiencies in the defensive line. Arkansas just got the commitment from Collin Clay, a defensive end from Oklahoma City. That gives Arkansas 11 commits in the class of 2019, and five on the defensive line.

Clay is ranked as a 3-star by 247Sports, and the fifth best recruit in the state of Oklahoma. His list of offers included TCU, Oklahoma State, Georgia, Oregon and plenty of others. While he’s the fifth DL commit, he’s the first listed as a strong side defensive end, giving the Hogs some more variety in their group.
He’s listed at 6’4” and 261 lbs. so he already has some good size for the position. In his sophomore year he had 40 tackles and increased that to 56 in 2017. His commitment comes right before the “Woo Pignic” one of the largest recruiting events that has been in Fayetteville in a long while. He was already planning to attend, but now will do so already committed.
