The Hogs picked up a late addition to the class and it’s a big one. Dorian Gerald, the 27th ranked overall JUCO player and top DE. Picked the Hogs over Texas A&M, and he did so with a good looking cookie cake.
WATCH: Nation's top JUCO DE apparently ready to take a "bite" out of opposing QB's. @TopNotchDG commits to @RazorbackFB. He says his relationship with @CoachJohnChavis was a big reason why. @RazorbackFBRec. pic.twitter.com/W2BDqiTHxK— Kyle Deckelbaum (@KATVKyle) February 10, 2018
Great choice of committing aside, although did we see a break in cookie cake/hat theory? Gerald was a major priority for both Chad Morris and John Chavis, and it sounds like his relationship with Chavis and the facilities sealed the deal for Gerald.
He comes to Fayetteville from College of the Canyons but is originally from South Carolina. He had double digit sacks each of his two years in JUCO and totalled 43 tackles for loss. At 6’3” and 260 lbs, he has size and skill to potentially contribute right away. And a lot of teams though highly of Gerald as well. He had Arkansas and Texas A&M as his final choices, but Florida, Tennessee, and Louisville were also in the mix.
