Arkansas got some good news on the eve of signing day. Ricky Stromberg was originally committed to Tulsa, but the offensive lineman flipped to Arkansas and is expected to sign in the upcoming early signing period.

Stromberg has been committed to Tulsa since June, but a late offer from Dustin Fry led to a quick decision to play for the Hogs. He is listed as 6’3” and 280 lbs. and plays for Union in Tulsa, one of the strongest and most well known programs in the state of Oklahoma, so getting good ties there could pay dividends for the Hogs in the future. He is also very close friends with Brady Jenks, another offensive lineman from Oklahoma.
An odd part of Stromberg’s recruiting is the massive gap in his evaluation. Rivals has him listed as a 2-star recruit, but 247Sports has him as a 4-star and a top-300 player in the nation. That puts his 247Sports Composite in the middle as a 3-star and the 53rd ranked offensive guard.
Stromberg has played on the interior of the line, different from most of the offensive linemen Arkansas has brought in for this class. He could come in at the guard spot or potentially compete at center as well.
