Men’s Cross Country
The men won their 6th consecutive South Central Regional Title this weekend, the final race before the NCAA Championship this upcoming weekend in Wisconsin. Conditions were not great for the race but the Hogs topped both Texas and Texas A&M in the race. SEC Individual Champion Gilbert Boit led the team with a fifth place finish, and all five runners finished in the top-20.
Women’s Cross Country
While the men won their regional meet, the women absolutely dominated theirs. They nearly swept the entire race finishing 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 11th. Katrina Robinson led the way for the Hogs, claiming the regional individual title. In the team competition the Hogs blew away 2nd place Texas and 3rd place Texas State.
Soccer
In the first round of the NCAA Tournament, the Hogs cruised to a 5-1 win over Little Rock. The Hogs had a different goal scorer for each of their goals. Arkansas was all over the Trojans, getting three goals in the first 13 minutes of the match. From their they cruised to the finish line to move onto the second round.
They will play Virginia Tech, who upset Texas in the first round. That game will be in Cary, N.C. because the next two rounds are being hosted by top national seed North Carolina. If Arkansas beats the Hokies on Friday, they would face the winner of North Carolina and Kansas (Carolina is the heavy favorite) on Sunday.
Volleyball
It was a split weekend at Barnhill Arena for the Hogs, they started the weekend with a dominant sweep over Georgia. Arkansas pulled away late in the first set before crushing Georgia in a 25-13 second set. The Hogs would win the third to finish the sweep. After that the Hogs dropped a 1-3 decision to LSU.
