We mentioned earlier this week that the Alabama game would be a big recruiting opportunity for the Hogs. So far it’s paid of quickly in getting 4-star defensive end Dante Walker to commit to Arkansas.
Walker is a 6’2”, 235 lb. defensive end from Ellenwood, Georgia. He had an impressive offer list that included Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Defensive Tackles coach John Scott Jr. is the lead recruiter for the state of Georgia and helped bring him in.
Arkansas now has six 4-star commits at 247Sports, and half of them are defensive ends. He’s joining a loaded defensive line class that is now up to eight total commits. It includes fellow four-stars Collin Clay and Mataio Soli. He and Soli are now the two commits in this class from the state of Georgia.
Now at 21 commits, Arkansas is still trying to get a few more names to fill out their class. There are only 14 seniors but there will certainly be more roster turnover that will allow for a bigger class. 247Sports currently lists the class as the 22nd in the country, which if that holds will be the highest ranked class since 2015 that was also 22nd. There will certainly be some shifting going on with some traditional west coast powers adding to their class later in the period, but it’s still shaping up to be an excellent recruiting class.
