Olympic Sports Recap: Share the Wealth

Both Volleyball and Soccer got performances from a lot of different sources this weekend.

Men’s Cross Country

In their final meet before postseason play, Arkansas had an impressive third place finish at the Penn State National Meet. They had two top-5 finishes in Cameron Griffith (3rd place), and Gilbert Boit (4th place). Next up is the SEC Championships in a couple of weeks.

Women’s Cross Country

Like the men, they had a final tune up before postseason play and theirs was even more impactful. At the Pre National meet at Wisconsin, the host of this year’s NCAA National Championship, the Hogs won the event, beating out programs like Oregon, Indiana, and North Carolina. Four Hogs finished in the top-10, led by Katrina Robinson who was second.

They took care of business with a 4-0 home win over a struggling Kentucky team. They had four different goal scorers and outshot the Wildcats 19-8. With Tennessee getting a draw in their game this weekend, the Hogs sit alone in 4th in the SEC standings with three games to go.

A second SEC was in the cards for the team this weekend. After dropping the first set against Mississippi State, they stormed back to win three straight sets, including a dominant 25-12 fourth set to clinch the match. They spread the success around the court, having four different players get 10 or more kills.
