The top rated player in the state of Arkansas has made his decision. Hudson Henry has committed to Arkansas.
Not just the top player in the state of Arkansas, his 247Sports Composite score has him as the top Tight End in the country and the 50th ranked recruit in the country.
Arkansas and Stanford were widely seen as his top two for a while, then though he’d listed a top five that included those two plus Clemson, Penn State, and Wisconsin. Henry stated his desire to wait and see how his position was utilized in the respective offenses before his final decision. For Arkansas, it was a slow start but tight end Cheyenne O’Grady was a major factor in the Alabama game last weekend, catching two touchdowns and being targeted multiple times.
His connections to Arkansas are widely known. His older brother Hunter, currently plays for the Los Angeles Chargers and was one of the best tight ends in school history. Hayden, also currently plays linebacker at Arkansas and earned a scholarship after initially walking on.
This is easily the biggest recruiting win in Chad Morris’ time at Arkansas. The previous staff’s inability to bring in the few high quality prospects the state produces was a major problem. While Morris hasn’t been knocking it out of the park with this in-State class, he landed the biggest prize. And it was one he had to have.
