Fall camp is underway for all 32 teams, and there are former Hogs scattered around the whole league. Last year we ended with Trey Flowers getting a Super Bowl ring after a big performance. Now there’s a whole pack of Razorbacks who have moved up to New England. Let’s check on him and some other notable Hogs.
After a underwhelming rookie season, Pete Carroll has some good things to say about Alex Collins. He has slimmed down a little and looks faster as well. Collins has said he paid close attention to his diet this summer and he looks likely to make the Seahawks’ 53-man roster.
Another running back looking strong is Jonathan Williams in Buffalo. Williams has gotten some second team reps behind LeSean McCoy, and even has some time with the starters. A full healthy season for Williams could do wonders for him.
After his Super Bowl victory, Flowers is now stepping into a leadership role, and that includes mentoring fellow Hog Detrich Wise with the Patriots. Brooks Ellis and Cody Hollister are both trying to carve out roles on the Patriots as well.
A couple of receivers are making strong pushes for their roster spots as well. After an ACL injury kept him out last year, Chris Gragg signed with the New York Jets. Over in Miami, Drew Morgan is impressing a lot of people, even to making the number two spot in the depth chart at the slot position.
It looks like there is a nice pattern emerging of Hogs drafted in the lower rounds or not getting drafted at all making their own way in the NFL. The more guys like Morgan and Williams carve out some roles on their teams the more fun Sundays can be for Hog fans.
